The average aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles import price stood at $6,361 per ton in June 2023, approximately equating the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 18% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $7,117 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($8,404 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($4,183 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles export price stood at $10,694 per ton in June 2023, rising by 6.9% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a resilient increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.5% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles export price increased by +92.7% against October 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 41% month-to-month. The export price peaked in June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($27,257 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($6,448 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (+20.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Aluminium; Alloys, Hollow Profiles in Poland
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of aluminium; alloys, hollow profileses decreased by -35.1% to 26K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a moderate expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +11.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 67%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 40K tons, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles imports shrank significantly to $163M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +45.5% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 64% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $196M, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
