The average import price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows stood at $6,638 per ton in September 2022, surging by 5.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a perceptible decrease. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $7,226 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to September 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($41,479 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($5,363 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+32.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average export price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows amounted to $6,588 per ton, reducing by -5.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows increased by +102.1% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $6,988 per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($15,090 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($4,769 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
