In November 2023, the average import price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows amounted to $6,306 per ton, falling by -2.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 31% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $8,901 per ton. From June 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($8,235 per ton), while the price for Russia ($4,618 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average export price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows stood at $10,279 per ton in November 2023, with an increase of 104% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 223% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $37,924 per ton. From February 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Russia ($52,685 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($4,733 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Aluminium; Alloys, Bars, Rods and Profiles, Other than Hollow in Latvia
In 2022, imports of aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows into Latvia dropped to 2.6K tons, declining by -10.5% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.9K tons, and then reduced in the following year.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 43% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
