The average export price for alcohols; cyclic, and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivativeses stood at $4,625 per ton in 2022, increasing by 28% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($15,814 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($2,500 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+17.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, import price indicated notable growth from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, import price for alcohols; cyclic, and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivativeses decreased by -8.2% against July 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 43% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $9,520 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($19,330 per ton), while the price for India ($7,635 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
