The average import price for alcohols; cyclic, and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivativeses stood at $7,576 per ton in 2022, surging by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $9,048 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $35,990 per ton. From February 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Swaziland ($14,442 per ton), while the average price for exports to China totaled $3,373 per ton.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malawi (+68.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
