In December 2023, the average export price for alcohols; aromatic alcohols and derivatives, benzyl alcohol amounted to $1,880 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2023 when the average export price increased by 12% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,018 per ton. From November 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In December 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Germany ($2,247 per ton) and Indonesia ($1,811 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($1,560 per ton) and Italy ($1,572 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
