In January 2024, the average import price for activated carbon; activated natural mineral products; animal black, including spent animal blacks amounted to $1,852 per ton, with an increase of 6.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 35% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,607 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to January 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($2,691 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($842 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (-0.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
