Preserved Olive Price in Iran (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average preserved olive export price amounted to $1,707 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 59% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $3,304 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($5,192 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($498 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+77.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Preserved Olive Price in Iran (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average preserved olive import price amounted to $1,513 per ton, with a decrease of -29.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 56%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,366 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($1,722 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates totaled $1,373 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Preserved Olive Exports in Iran

For the third year in a row, Iran recorded decline in shipments abroad of olives prepared or preserved, which decreased by -82.5% to 26 tons in 2022. Overall, exports faced a significant curtailment. The smallest decline of -26% was in 2020.

In value terms, preserved olive exports shrank rapidly to $44K in 2022. In general, exports showed a dramatic curtailment. The smallest decline of -36.4% was in 2020.

Preserved Olive Imports in Iran

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of olives prepared or preserved, when their volume increased by 183% to 352 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep downturn.

In value terms, preserved olive imports skyrocketed to $533K in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment.
