In June 2023, the average preserved asparagus import price amounted to $1,957 per ton, declining by -10% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 28% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $2,419 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Peru ($2,174 per ton), while the price for China ($1,800 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average preserved asparagus export price stood at $3,061 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 8.3% against the previous year.
