Plastic Packaging Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average plastic packaging export price amounted to $2,577 per ton, with an increase of 8.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $2,895 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($3,693 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($1,734 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plastic Packaging Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2022
The average plastic packaging import price stood at $4,077 per ton in 2022, surging by 1.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 10%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $5,319 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($6,023 per ton), while the price for Bulgaria ($1,672 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Croatia (+12.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plastic Packaging Exports in Turkey
In 2022, the amount of plastic packaging exported from Turkey stood at 422K tons, with an increase of 1.6% against 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 8.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, plastic packaging exports rose markedly to $1.1B in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +10.8% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Plastic Packaging Imports in Turkey

In value terms, plastic packaging imports expanded notably to $239M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
