Plastic Container Price in France (FOB) - 2023
The average plastic container export price stood at $4,700 per ton in June 2023, picking up by 8% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0%. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 13% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $4,730 per ton in April 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($8,251 per ton), while the average price for exports to Gabon ($1,869 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+10.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plastic Container Price in France (CIF) - 2022
The average plastic container import price stood at $5,077 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 6.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 34%. The import price peaked at $5,618 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($18,410 per ton), while the price for the UK ($2,499 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plastic Container Exports in France
Plastic container exports from France declined to 84K tons in 2022, reducing by -2.6% against the previous year's figure. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period.
