Plant-Growth Regulators Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2023
The average plant-growth regulators import price stood at $11,994 per ton in August 2023, which is down by -17.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 41% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $14,486 per ton in July 2023, and then fell remarkably in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($21,081 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($8,874 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plant-Growth Regulators Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2023
In August 2023, the average plant-growth regulators export price amounted to $16,694 per ton, with an increase of 15% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a slight increase from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, plant-growth regulators export price increased by +14.8% against July 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 49% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $19,795 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($36,342 per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($3,044 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plant-Growth Regulators Imports in the Netherlands
For the fourth year in a row, the Netherlands recorded growth in purchases abroad of plant-growth regulators, which increased by 2.3% to 19K tons in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +17.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +61.5% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, plant-growth regulators imports fell to $189M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 48% against the previous year.
