The average petroleum jelly import price stood at $1,631 per ton in April 2020, reducing by -7.9% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2020 to April 2020, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2020 when the average import price increased by 47% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,174 per ton. From March 2020 to April 2020, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,148 per ton), while the price for India ($1,089 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2020 to April 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average petroleum jelly export price stood at $4,493 per ton in 2022, which is down by -1.8% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, petroleum jelly export price increased by +48.5% against 2016 indices.
