Pear Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average pear import price amounted to $1,462 per ton, rising by 9.2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Australia ($1,700 per ton) and China ($1,490 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($1,137 per ton) and South Africa ($1,194 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Pear Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022

The average pear export price stood at $2,052 per ton in September 2022, surging by 3.7% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a measured expansion from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.1% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, pear export price increased by +12.5% against July 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 58% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $2,602 per ton in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to September 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Cambodia ($3,649 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($1,619 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Pear Imports in Singapore

In 2022, approx. 16K tons of pears were imported into Singapore; approximately mirroring the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 8.7% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 19K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, pear imports expanded notably to $23M in 2022. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern.

Pear Exports in Singapore

In 2022, approx. 1.7K tons of pears were exported from Singapore; growing by 26% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a noticeable descent.

In value terms, pear exports surged to $2.7M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +54.5% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
