Pear Price in Australia (FOB) - 2023
In November 2023, the average pear export price amounted to $1,238 per ton, surging by 14% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a mild expansion from December 2022 to November 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1% over the last eleven-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2023 figures, pear export price decreased by -11.7% against July 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 39% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $1,759 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($1,948 per ton), while the average price for exports to New Caledonia ($997 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pear Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023
The average pear import price stood at $2,243 per ton in November 2023, rising by 6.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2023 an increase of 18% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,586 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($3,933 per ton), while the price for China stood at $1,855 per ton.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+0.6%).
Pear Exports in Australia
In 2022, the amount of pears exported from Australia shrank to 8.1K tons, falling by -14% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 9.9% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 9.4K tons, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, pear exports shrank dramatically to $9.4M in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 17% against the previous year.
