Pasta Products Price in Panama (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average pasta products import price amounted to $2,127 per ton, with an increase of 30% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a slight expansion from November 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3% over the last ten-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, pasta products import price increased by +29.5% against August 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 97% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,993 per ton. From February 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($3,370 per ton), while the price for Peru ($872 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (-0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Pasta Products Price in Panama (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average pasta products export price amounted to $1,741 per ton, with an increase of 118% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a tangible expansion. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bahamas ($2,742 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK amounted to $1,715 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bahamas (+21.8%).
Pasta Products Imports in Panama
In 2022, the amount of dried, undried and frozen pasta and pasta products imported into Panama reached 2K tons, with an increase of 14% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.5K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
