Particle Board Price in Latvia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average particle board export price amounted to $348 per cubic meter, rising by 12% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, particle board export price increased by +62.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 45%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($585 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Poland ($223 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+11.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Particle Board Price in Latvia (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average particle board import price amounted to $392 per cubic meter, approximately equating the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 19% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $477 per cubic meter in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Lithuania ($526 per cubic meter) and Estonia ($432 per cubic meter), while the price for Poland ($368 per cubic meter) and Germany ($419 per cubic meter) were amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lithuania (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Particle Board Exports in Latvia
In 2022, shipments abroad of particle board decreased by -18.8% to 890K cubic meters for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 16% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 1.1M cubic meters, and then fell markedly in the following year.
In value terms, particle board exports contracted to $309M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +57.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 68% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $339M, and then declined in the following year.

Particle Board Imports in Latvia
