Olive Price in Denmark (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average olive import price amounted to $4,590 per ton, dropping by -18.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 57% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $6,943 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($8,721 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($1,622 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (-0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Olive Price in Denmark (FOB) - 2022

The average olive export price stood at $3,240 per ton in 2022, waning by -24.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 58%. The export price peaked at $5,625 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($3,922 per ton), while the average price for exports to Greenland ($2,900 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+38.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Olive Imports in Denmark

In 2022, approx. 197 tons of olives were imported into Denmark; jumping by 22% compared with the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, olive imports contracted to $905K in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a deep slump.
