Odoriferous Substance Mixture Price in New Zealand (CIF) - 2023

In September 2023, the average odoriferous substance mixture import price amounted to $19,761 per ton, which is down by -2.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 3,540% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $695K per ton. From March 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($27,142 per ton), while the price for Germany ($15,714 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Odoriferous Substance Mixture Price in New Zealand (FOB) - 2023

The average odoriferous substance mixture export price stood at $11,589 per ton in September 2023, falling by -32.9% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 39% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $17,743 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($15,342 per ton), while the average price for exports to Fiji ($6,759 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Fiji (+12.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Odoriferous Substance Mixture Imports in New Zealand

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of mixtures of odoriferous substances and their preparations, when their volume decreased by -7.3% to 2.8K tons. Overall, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +53.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 47%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 3K tons, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, odoriferous substance mixture imports reduced modestly to $54M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +66.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 48%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $55M, and then declined slightly in the following year.
