Odoriferous Substance Mixture Imports By Country

The imports of the three major importers of odoriferous substance mixture, namely the UK, Mozambique, and the U.S., represented more than fourth of total import. Mexico (96K tonnes) ranks second globally in odoriferous substance mixture imports with a 6% share, following France (5%). Germany (63K tonnes), Spain (57K tonnes), the Philippines (49K tonnes), Italy (46K tonnes), Poland (39K tonnes), Thailand (35K tonnes), and the Netherlands (33K tonnes) followed a long way behind this figure.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of odoriferous substance mixture imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by Mozambique (+78.6% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest odoriferous substance mixture markets worldwide were the U.S. ($2.5B), France ($2.2B) and Mexico ($1.6B), with a combined 29% share of global imports. These countries were followed by Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, Thailand, Poland, the Netherlands, the Philippines and Mozambique, which together accounted for a further 25%.

The Philippines (+16.0% per year) recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the odoriferous substance mixture imports, among the main importing countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2016, the average import price for odoriferous substance mixture amounted to $13 per kg, falling by -17.6% against the previous year. Overall, odoriferous substance mixture import price continues to indicate a moderate curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, an increase of 74% y-o-y.
