Non-Alloy Steel I-Sections Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023
In September 2023, the average non-alloy steel i-sections export price amounted to $902 per ton, dropping by -6.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a slight decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 8.4% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,163 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($1,673 per ton), while the average price for exports to Algeria ($863 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Non-Alloy Steel I-Sections Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average non-alloy steel i-sections import price amounted to $863 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 6% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,099 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($8,976 per ton), while the price for Switzerland ($1,135 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+80.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Non-Alloy Steel I-Sections Exports in Germany
Non-alloy steel i-sections exports from Germany fell rapidly to 306K tons in 2022, with a decrease of -19.4% against 2021 figures. In general, exports saw a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 14%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 380K tons, and then declined remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, non-alloy steel i-sections exports expanded slightly to $362M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +78.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 73% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
