In September 2023, the average natural sand import price amounted to $155 per ton, falling by -72.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 when the average import price increased by 265% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $557 per ton, and then shrank notably in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Finland ($454 per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($125 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Finland (+12.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average natural sand export price stood at $22 per ton in 2022, rising by 164% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a deep setback. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $132 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As a result, the exports reached the peak of $524K, and then reduced notably in the following year.
