Motorcycle Tire Price in Thailand (FOB) - 2023

The average motorcycle tire export price stood at $12.4 per unit in September 2023, waning by -11.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 20% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $14.0 per unit, and then contracted in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($54.7 per unit), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($7.3 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Myanmar (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2023, the average motorcycle tire import price amounted to $18.4 per unit, falling by -22.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a mild descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 25% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $27.7 per unit in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($94.9 per unit), while the price for Vietnam ($11.0 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+13.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, motorcycle tire exports reached $199M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
