Molybdenum; Wire Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average molybdenum; wire import price amounted to $77,882 per ton, growing by 35% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by 37%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($95,221 per ton), while the price for China amounted to $70,205 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.1%).

The average molybdenum; wire export price stood at $72,500 per ton in 2022, waning by -48.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $179,000 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($85,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to Argentina stood at $60,000 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Molybdenum; Wire Imports in Brazil

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of molybdenum; wires decreased by -32.7% to 10 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion.
