Meat Dishes Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2023
The average meat dishes export price stood at $3,771 per ton in July 2023, rising by 12% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 15% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $3,901 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($9,505 per ton), while the average price for exports to Angola ($1,259 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cuba (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Meat Dishes Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2023
The average meat dishes import price stood at $7,314 per ton in July 2023, dropping by -28.9% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a modest increase from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, meat dishes import price decreased by -28.9% against June 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 43% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $10,280 per ton in June 2023, and then contracted markedly in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($7,964 per ton), while the price for Uruguay ($5,596 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Meat Dishes Exports in Brazil
In 2022, exports of meat dishes from Brazil expanded remarkably to 412K tons, surging by 7.3% against 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 15% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
