Live Fish Price in Jordan (CIF) - 2022
The average live fish import price stood at $15,619 per ton in 2022, declining by -18.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw measured growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 61% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $19,064 per ton in 2021, and then fell significantly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($30,317 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($3,504 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+25.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average live fish export price amounted to $21,448 per ton, rising by 6.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price enjoyed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average export price increased by 94% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iraq ($23,900 per ton), while the average price for exports to Libya ($4,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
