Linseed Oil Price in Thailand (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average linseed oil import price amounted to $2,704 per ton, surging by 45% against the previous year. Overall, the import price posted a tangible expansion. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($6,637 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($2,373 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Linseed Oil Price in Thailand (FOB) - 2022
The average linseed oil export price stood at $4,037 per ton in 2022, reducing by -40.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 179%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $8,673 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($22,246 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($2,813 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+14.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Linseed Oil Imports in Thailand
In 2022, purchases abroad of linseed oil decreased by -16.1% to 1K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +31.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.2K tons, and then fell sharply in the following year.
In value terms, linseed oil imports surged to $2.7M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 103% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
