Iron Angle Price in France (CIF) - 2023
The average iron angle import price stood at $962 per ton in June 2023, declining by -9.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 5.9% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,388 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Germany ($1,039 per ton) and Belgium ($1,034 per ton), while the price for Spain ($936 per ton) and Luxembourg ($946 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (-2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Iron Angle Price in France (FOB) - 2023
The average iron angle export price stood at $951 per ton in June 2023, which is down by -5.9% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 4.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,323 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to the Czech Republic ($1,135 per ton) and Norway ($1,011 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($915 per ton) and Poland ($918 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (-0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Iron Angle Imports in France
Iron angle imports into France contracted slightly to 733K tons in 2022, falling by -3.2% on 2021. In general, imports saw a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 1%.
In value terms, iron angle imports surged to $942M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 57%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
