Internal Combustion Engines Price in Norway (CIF) - 2023

The average internal combustion engines import price stood at $5,505 per unit in September 2023, which is down by -40.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 112% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $10,327 per unit in February 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to September 2023.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($15,497 per unit), while the price for the UK ($2,785 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lithuania (+8.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Internal Combustion Engines Price in Norway (FOB) - 2022

The average internal combustion engines export price stood at $769 per unit in 2022, growing by 6.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 106%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $1,932 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,371 per unit), while the average price for exports to Cameroon ($76 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+15.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Internal Combustion Engines Imports in Norway

In 2022, the amount of motor vehicles compression-ignition internal combustion piston engines imported into Norway rose slightly to 2.5K units, picking up by 4.7% on the year before. In general, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -9.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 38%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $16M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
