Internal Combustion Engines Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023
The average internal combustion engines import price stood at $11,987 per unit in August 2023, reducing by -15.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 21% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $16,190 per unit in December 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to August 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($24,313 per unit), while the price for South Africa ($1,595 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average internal combustion engines export price stood at $3,819 per unit in 2022, jumping by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a tangible expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 125% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $4,303 per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Papua New Guinea ($16,348 per unit), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($327 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Egypt (+16.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
