Insecticide Price in Hungary (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average insecticide import price amounted to $9,449 per ton, picking up by 2.1% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, insecticide import price decreased by -36.9% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $14,971 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($76,527 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($1,764 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovenia (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Insecticide Price in Hungary (FOB) - 2022
The average insecticide export price stood at $21,299 per ton in 2022, reducing by -17% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $31,702 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($37,435 per ton), while the average price for exports to Australia ($9,288 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+8.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Insecticide Imports in Hungary
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of insecticides decreased by -56.8% to 11K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 46% against the previous year.
In value terms, insecticide imports contracted significantly to $108M in 2022. Overall, imports showed a sharp slump. The smallest decline of -2.1% was in 2020.

Insecticide Exports in Hungary
In 2022, shipments abroad of insecticides decreased by -26.1% to 6K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, total exports indicated mild growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -26.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 41%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 8.1K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, insecticide exports fell remarkably to $127M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 12% against the previous year.
