Ice Cream Price in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2023

In August 2023, the average ice cream import price amounted to $3,443 per ton, falling by -3.7% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 14% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $3,624 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,846 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($2,323 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Ice Cream Price in the Czech Republic (FOB) - 2023

The average ice cream export price stood at $4,428 per ton in August 2023, falling by -3.2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 170% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $4,574 per ton in July 2023, and then reduced modestly in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($7,555 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($1,989 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+14.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Ice Cream Imports in the Czech Republic

In 2022, imports of ice cream into the Czech Republic rose to 30K tons, surging by 3.6% compared with the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, ice cream imports totaled $82M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
