The average gypsum and anhydrite export price stood at $17 per ton in 2022, falling by -44.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 203%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $56 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($78 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($12 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to New Zealand (+13.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average gypsum and anhydrite import price stood at $268 per ton in September 2023, jumping by 372% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight contraction.
