The average gum arabic import price stood at $4,740 per ton in June 2023, remaining stable against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 16% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,328 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for France.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United States amounted to +1.5% per month.
Gum Arabic Price in Mexico (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average gum arabic export price amounted to $6,170 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 113% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $7,741 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($12,669 per ton), while the average price for exports to Honduras ($1,965 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Jamaica (+193.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, the exports attained the peak of $227K, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.
