Grape Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
The average grape import price stood at $1,757 per ton in August 2023, falling by -21.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 75% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,652 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($2,865 per ton), while the price for Moldova ($1,098 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Grape Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
The average grape export price stood at $1,813 per ton in August 2023, remaining stable against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated temperate growth from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.8% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, grape export price decreased by +0.3% against June 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 24% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $2,240 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($3,207 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($1,329 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+9.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Grape Imports in Poland
In 2022, supplies from abroad of grapes decreased by -5.5% to 127K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 9.4% against the previous year.
In value terms, grape imports reduced to $206M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 12%.

Grape Exports in Poland
In 2022, overseas shipments of grapes decreased by -20.4% to 2.1K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, exports continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 24%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 3.1K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, grape exports reduced notably to $3.5M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a slight expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -27.3% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 45%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $4.8M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
