Frozen Sweet Corn Price in Chile (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average frozen sweet corn import price amounted to $1,472 per ton, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 19% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,764 per ton. From April 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($2,082 per ton), while the price for China ($1,317 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+12.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Sweet Corn Price in Chile (FOB) - 2022
The average frozen sweet corn export price stood at $1,653 per ton in 2022, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 17% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,036 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($1,419 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+8.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Sweet Corn Imports in Chile
For the fourth year in a row, Chile recorded growth in supplies from abroad of frozen sweet corn, which increased by 1.1% to 19K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 68% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
