Frozen Poultry Liver Price in Canada (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average frozen poultry liver export price amounted to $1,643 per ton, surging by 2.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 32% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $2,050 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,408 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($718 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Gambia (+13.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average frozen poultry liver import price stood at $3,063 per ton in June 2023, increasing by 14% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 24% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,200 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Chile ($3,818 per ton) and Hungary ($3,571 per ton), while the price for the United States ($2,792 per ton) and Brazil ($3,204 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+21.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Poultry Liver Exports in Canada
In 2022, shipments abroad of frozen poultry livers and offal decreased by -36.7% to 64K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports showed a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 7%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 101K tons, and then declined notably in the following year.
In value terms, frozen poultry liver exports shrank markedly to $104M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated mild growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +4.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $141M, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
