The average frozen cuttlefishes import price stood at $2,533 per ton in July 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 18% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,200 per ton. From September 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Namibia ($4,118 per ton), while the price for China totaled $2,490 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
