The average fresh whole chicken export price stood at $2,715 per ton in September 2023, reducing by -2.2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 7.3% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $2,782 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Austria ($2,809 per ton) and Kosovo ($2,796 per ton), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($2,463 per ton) and North Macedonia ($2,655 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to North Macedonia (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
