Folding Boxboard Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
The average folding boxboard import price stood at $1,035 per ton in September 2023, waning by -2.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a mild curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 4.5% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,328 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the UK ($1,459 per ton), while the price for Serbia ($416 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Folding Boxboard Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
The average folding boxboard export price stood at $1,542 per ton in September 2023, flattening at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 10% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $1,886 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Iran ($4,524 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($610 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Libya (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Folding Boxboard Imports in Turkey
For the fourth consecutive year, Turkey recorded growth in overseas purchases of folding boxboard, which increased by 26% to 893K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.2% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
