Fluoropolymers Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023
The average fluoropolymers import price stood at $23,112 per ton in September 2023, rising by 100% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a temperate expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 101% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $38,393 per ton. From January 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($65,962 per ton), while the price for China ($14,114 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+15.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fluoropolymers Price in Australia (FOB) - 2023
The average fluoropolymers export price stood at $14,449 per ton in September 2023, increasing by 12% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 50% against the previous month. From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+18.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Fluoropolymers Imports in Australia
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of fluoropolymers decreased by -18.3% to 428 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a perceptible curtailment.
