Fish Parts Price in Canada (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average fish parts import price amounted to $25,257 per ton, declining by -6.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 54%. The import price peaked at $31,416 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($61,943 per ton), while the price for Iceland ($10,426 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+20.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average fish parts export price stood at $5,105 per ton in 2022, increasing by 86% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a abrupt shrinkage. The export price peaked at $9,985 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,383 per ton), while the average price for exports to China amounted to $3,720 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+31.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Fish parts imports into Canada reached 249 tons in 2022, picking up by 2.4% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 88%.
