Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 24% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $30,604 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($34,884 per ton), while the price for Austria ($21,916 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
