China Esters Of Salicylic Acid And Their Salts (Excluding Of O- Acetylsalicylic Acid) Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the esters of salicylic acid and their salts (excluding of o- acetylsalicylic acid) price amounted to $4,088 per ton (FOB, China), reducing by -3.1% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2022 when the average export price increased by 8.8% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,980 per ton. From June 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($5,911 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($2,547 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, exports decreased by -11.2% against June 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 when exports increased by 86% m-o-m. The exports peaked at 3.1K tons in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to September 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, exports of esters of salicylic acid and their salts (excluding of o- acetylsalicylic acid) soared to $11M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a modest expansion from January 2022 to September 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5% over the last eight-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, exports decreased by -23.1% against May 2022 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2022 when exports increased by 103% month-to-month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $15M. From June 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.

The United States (494 tons) was the main destination for exports of esters of salicylic acid and their salts (excluding of o- acetylsalicylic acid) from China, accounting for a 18% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of esters of salicylic acid and their salts (excluding of o- acetylsalicylic acid) to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Brazil (227 tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Mexico (201 tons), with a 7.3% share.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume to the United States totaled -6.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Brazil (+27.5% per month) and Mexico (+15.1% per month).
In value terms, the United States ($2M), the Netherlands ($1.1M) and Singapore ($1M) constituted the largest markets for esters of salicylic acid and their salts (excluding of o- acetylsalicylic acid) exported from China worldwide, with a combined 36% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Indonesia, Thailand, Nigeria, the Philippines, Switzerland, Spain and India, which together accounted for a further 40%.
Among the main countries of destination, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +24.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
