Dried Vegetables Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023

The average dried vegetables import price stood at $3,515 per ton in August 2023, which is down by -12% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 58% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $4,686 per ton. From April 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,343 per ton), while the price for China ($2,203 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Dried Vegetables Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2023

The average dried vegetables export price stood at $4,635 per ton in August 2023, falling by -21.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a mild reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 235% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $10,613 per ton. From February 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($5,220 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kyrgyzstan ($2,131 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Dried Vegetables Imports in Lithuania

In 2022, approx. 1.1K tons of dried vegetables and mixtures of vegetables were imported into Lithuania; with an increase of 2.5% against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 14% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.2K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, dried vegetables imports rose to $3.8M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +10.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 15%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Dried Vegetables Exports in Lithuania

In 2022, shipments abroad of dried vegetables and mixtures of vegetables decreased by -54.3% to 109 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports continue to indicate a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 55% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 301 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, dried vegetables exports declined rapidly to $436K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted perceptible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 102% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $960K, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
