Dried Grapes Price in South Korea (CIF) - 2022

The average dried grapes import price stood at $2,877 per ton in December 2022, growing by 7.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 25% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,129 per ton. From October 2022 to December 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,136 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($1,691 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Dried Grapes Price in South Korea (FOB) - 2022

The average dried grapes export price stood at $5,391 per ton in 2022, falling by -1.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, dried grapes export price increased by +87.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 59% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $5,494 per ton in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($10,653 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mongolia totaled $3,760 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+17.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Dried Grapes Imports in South Korea

Dried grapes imports into South Korea contracted to 3.7K tons in 2022, reducing by -10.6% against the previous year. In general, imports continue to indicate a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year.

In value terms, dried grapes imports contracted slightly to $10M in 2022. Overall, imports saw a abrupt setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 37%.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 118% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 12 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, dried grapes exports dropped dramatically to $2.8K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a sharp slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 59%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $45K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
