The average dried apricot import price stood at $7,874 per ton in 2022, rising by 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $8,634 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was El Salvador ($11,714 per ton), while the price for the United States ($4,239 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Dried Apricot Imports in Guatemala
