Domestic Electro-Thermic Appliances Price in Uganda (CIF) - 2022

The average domestic electro-thermic appliances import price stood at $31 per unit in 2022, waning by -6.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $33 per unit in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($90 per unit), while the price for China ($13 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Domestic Electro-Thermic Appliances Price in Uganda (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average domestic electro-thermic appliances export price amounted to $90 per unit, picking up by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a notable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 80%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Democratic Republic of the Congo ($375 per unit), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($17 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland (+24.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Domestic Electro-Thermic Appliances Imports in Uganda

In 2022, the amount of domestic electro-thermic appliances imported into Uganda skyrocketed to 371K units, picking up by 21% on the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, domestic electro-thermic appliances imports expanded rapidly to $11M in 2022. In general, imports recorded significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 62%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Domestic Electro-Thermic Appliances Exports in Uganda

In 2022, overseas shipments of domestic electro-thermic appliances decreased by -18.5% to 348 units, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports showed a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 309% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 1.9K units. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, domestic electro-thermic appliances exports expanded markedly to $31K in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a moderate expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 304%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $117K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
