Which Country Exports the Most Electric Ovens and Cookers in the World?

In 2016, the global oven and cooker exports amounted to 4.4M tonnes, rising by 5% against the previous year level. Overall, it indicated a prominent increase from 2007 to 2016: the total exports volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, oven and cooker exports increased by +8.4% against its level of 2014. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2012, when export increased by 21% y-o-y. Global oven and cooker export peaked of 4.8M tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, oven and cooker exports totaled $42B in 2016. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2007 to 2016; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations in certain years. Global oven and cooker export peaked of $45B in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Oven And Cooker Exports By Country

China (2M tonnes) represented the key exporter of oven and cooker in the world, resulting at 2M tonnes, which was approx. 45% of total exports in 2016. Germany (261K tonnes) took a 6% share (based on tonnes) of global oven and cooker exports, which put it in second place, following Italy (5%), and Turkey (5%). Poland (166K tonnes), Mexico (155K tonnes), the U.S. (125K tonnes), the Netherlands (108K tonnes), France (91K tonnes), Thailand (90K tonnes), Malaysia (85K tonnes), and Spain (71K tonnes) occupied the mild share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2016, average annual rates of growth with regard to oven and cooker exports from China stood at +7.3%. At the same time, the Netherlands (+14.2%), Mexico (+9.7%), Poland (+8.0%), Turkey (+6.2%), the U.S. (+3.5%), Italy (+3.4%), Malaysia (+2.5%), and Germany (+1.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +14.2% from 2007-2016. Spain, and Thailand experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, France (-1.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The Netherlands (-1.7%), Poland (-1.9%), Mexico (-2.0%), Turkey (-2.1%), and China (-21.2%) significantly weakened its position in terms of the global exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($18B) remains the largest oven and cooker supplier in the world, making up 43% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Germany ($3.9B), with the share of 9% of global exports. It was followed by Italy, with the share of 6%.

In China, oven and cooker exports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the period from 2007-2016. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates: Germany (+1.0% per year) and Italy (-2.5% per year).

Oven And Cooker Export Prices By Country

The average oven and cooker export price stood at $9,737 per tonne in 2016, dropping by -3.6% against the previous year. Overall, oven and cooker export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014, when it surged by 25% year-to-year. Over the period under review, average oven and cooker export price reached its maximum level of $12 per kg in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

Export prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest export prices was France ($15 per kg), while Turkey ($3,967 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of oven and cooker export prices was attained by Malaysia (+4.3% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
