Cutting Blade Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average cutting blade import price amounted to $23,738 per ton, surging by 13% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 38% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $24,519 per ton. From December 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($63,276 per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($8,286 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Cutting Blade Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023

In June 2023, the average cutting blade export price amounted to $20,594 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a measured increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, cutting blade export price decreased by -1.5% against April 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 74% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $20,907 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Austria ($23,564 per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($10,567 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Cutting Blade Imports in Poland

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of knives and cutting blades (for machines or for mechanical appliances) decreased by -3.9% to 3.7K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 3.8K tons, and then contracted slightly in the following year.

In value terms, cutting blade imports contracted to $71M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 9.7% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $77M, and then reduced in the following year.

The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, cutting blade exports dropped to $47M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $50M, and then fell in the following year.
